Kinetic building facades are finally in Kaunas
The facade of the building must not be rigid or unmovable and it should be flexible like our skin. Moving facades are modern, aesthetical, dynamical, durable and innovative. Richard Buckminster Fuller, a famous American architect, systems theorist, designer and futurist, predicted many years ago that this type of facade would be relevant in today’s society, who said that the facade of a building should not be rigid and unmovable, it should be flexible like our skin. Now, we can finally admire such facades in Lithuania.
Educated aesthetic sense
Buildings design is like a business card for the building, it represents, decorates, draws attention, and allows it to stand out from other buildings. Recently, more and more attention is deservedly paid to the facade. This is determined by various reasons: increased opportunities for customers, a more developed aesthetical sense and an interest in innovative, attractive ideas. We would like to introduce you to our product – kinetic facades, also called dynamic facades. The kinetic facade is composed of small square or hexagonal stainless steel plates. Square-shaped plates are especially suitable for classical-style buildings, and hexagonal ones for modern ones.
Responsive to the wind
Even with a light breeze, the details of the facade begin to move effortlessly, thus creating a dynamical image that you will never get tired of looking at. Gusty winds are not so rare in our country, so many people may wonder if there will be noise in case of a strong wind? In order to avoid noise, the facade is installed so that the moving plates cannot reach the facade, limiting the amplitude of their movement.
Specification
The plates can either be square 150×150 mm or hexagonal 200×172 mm, resembling a honeycomb in appearance. Kinetic facade plates are unaffected by weather conditions such as hot sun, harsh winter wind and sub-zero temperatures. They are designed in such a way that they maintain their aesthetic in all seasons. We have not only thought about our products aesthetic look, but also about products longevity. Such a facade will last for more than 20 years, since the plates are made of stainless steel. If not only aesthetics are important to you, but also the durability of a buildings facade, this product is just for you.

We produce on site
Facade elements are produced in our workshop in Kaunas, using modern technologies, such as: cutting, welding, laser cleaning. We also use software stud welding machines. In the future, we have planned to additionally cover the plates by a vacuum method in order to obtain a wider range of colors. We also manufacture individual support frames, e.g. for the windows. We give the customers almost assembled panels with plates, which customers can easily assemble themselves
40 m²
We produce 40 m² plates per day.
Technologies
Plates are cut with laser machines. Their frames are powder-coated, and they themselves are textured in a way as desired by the customer. The panels are screwed to the frame and attached to the wall of the building, thus creating a ventilated facade. The weight of the frame with plates is 15 kg/m2 – such a facade is heavier than other finishing materials, so it is important to install it on a more solid wall – concrete or masonry. However, the kinetic facade is more durable and easier to adjust. Once the plate is lubricated, it can be easily cleaned, and if damaged, it can be easily replaced, so there is no need to change the entire frame. We select every part of the system that makes up the kinetic facade, so you don’t have to worry about anything – we will do everything for you.
